2020 Fight for Air Climb, and It Is All About What We Do – Breathing!

John Murphy | Clinical Operations Coordinator, Respiratory Care | Franciscan Health Indianapolis

Well, the 2020 “Fight for Air Climb” is upon us and climbers are ready and running to get to the top. We will make it but why not get involved yourself?

Powered by the Spirit to help, many respiratory therapists have formed teams to climb. The Franciscan Health Indianapolis has a climb team called “Air Supply Revived” and climbers are asked to raise a minimum donation for the American Lung Association to meet research goals related to breathing. We climb for those who can’t!

Climb date is March 7 at Indiana’s tallest building, Salesforce Tower in downtown Indy, (some of us have already completed a practice climb). Those of us in the ALA Boot Camp at NIFS are half way done with that preparation.

Why all the hype? Lung Health – Lung Disease, Air Quality-Lung Cancer, COPD, Asthma Research and Treatment, EVALI Prevention, and more.

These are the reasons the ALA works to raise Funds for this Climb. If you can’t climb this time, think about it for next year and work out with us at next year’s ALA-sponsored Boot camp at NIFS. The NIFS staff can ensure that you’ll get through the climb when you finish the Boot Camp for climbers. Decide if you can climb, join in, raise your funds and climb. You can also support a climber.
